サマーりゅうがくプログラム ミーティング

みなさん、なつ（summer）のりゅうがくプログラムのミーティングがあります。

This will be a general session across all language programs. 
We will have a separate session for our Japanese program on Monday, November 26 (details will be announced later). 

From SLA: 
The Center for the Study of Languages & Cultures is pleased to announce the 2013 Summer Language Abroad (SLA) Grant Program for undergraduate and graduate students.  The SLA Grant Program provides funding for individual summer foreign language study abroad via awards of up to $5,500 combined with a comprehensive curriculum of international study coursework, proficiency testing and service learning components.  Learn more at our new SLA Grant Website. The application deadline for Summer 2013 grants is February 1.

きんようびの　しゅくだいです。

日本のうちは、どんなうちですか？

アメリカのと　ちがいますか（different）？

日本のうちについて、べんきょうしてください。

そして、ブログに、みなさんのアメリカのうち（へや）について　かいてください。

１）Learn about Japanese houses by

         - checking relavant websites

         - reading your textbook p176-177

         - watching the following video

２）Compare American houses and Japanese ones and find similarities and differences
        Think "WHY" (i.e. Typical Japanese houses have at least one rice cooker. "WHY?").

３）Post a blog entry about American houses (rooms) for the Japanese audience. Introduce things in your house/ room, and if possible/ necessary explain why.

４）Use various adjectives, verbs and grammar structures.

Please remember, people from Japan could be checking your blog. Make sure that you introduce unique features of American houses for them.

日本と、中国（ちゅうごく）と、かんこくの　ぶんか(culture)のブース(booths)が　ありますよ。そして、たべものもあります！
日本のブースでは、「たなばた」「かみこうさく（paper craft）」「おりがみ」「はなふだ」をします。

Please bring your friend(s) who:
- are NOT juniors and seniors
- are NOT currently taking Japanese classes
- might be interested in taking Japanese class in fall 2013
